  • Suggestions Re: Money sinks, Loot options, RPs, STP, Quality of life coding tweaks

    Money sinks:
    - Fast wagon options. 200d or something per ride. Wagons from each road marker to another road marker. (Crossroads, Blackvine, Seld, Fran eventually.) Restrictions: Cannot have warrants, or covers. Drover takes a list of names of people who use it and will recite it to anyone who asks, for about an IRL week. This is to prevent people from using the wagon as invisible travel and being able to teleport, essentially, over stretches of road.
    - Fast ferries. Fran, Monlon, Seld. 150d or something per ride. Same cover/warrant/list mechanics.
    - New variations of same armor, in new metals/materials. Alati greaves, iron bracers, etc. These aren't better than anything, they're just different. Light armor bonus to everyone. Therefore everyone will have the choice, every day, to go out in either normal or light armor, and will likely want to build both types of sets. Money and time sink.
    - Library lessons for MENTAL STATS. Make it cost a lot.

    Loot ideas:
    - Consumables that improve your fatigue or HP regen, or give temporary stat bonuses (both combat and non combat.) Lasts 15m. 24h cooldown. Semi-rare drops from boss chests in boss-fight areas.
    - More boss-loot chests with timer mechanics like UT and new BHC. Rare-loot generators specific to the area. Doesn't have to be valuable, just has to have fun flair and be rare. (Stone/metal/gem based things in Undertown. Hand printed black stuff in BHC. Piratey stuff in Black Sands. Cineran stuff in Fran. Barbarian stuff in RV.)

    RP Spend Suggestions:
    - 2000 RPS - Custom reskins of existing moves. Keeps same repeat penalty as original move. Needs GM approval, needs to keep the same spirit of movements as the original move. Can be taught.
    - 3000 and then rising costs for re-traiting.
    - Role-play customizations such as unique gaits (so and so hobbles, so and do drags his foot, so and so strides); stance in a room (existing ones: squatting, sitting, standing. Examples of custom new ones: leaning, arms crossed, hunched tiredly, etc.);
    - 3-5000 rps being able to purchase an SG-lite character. The role of this character is determined by staff, with some preferences from the purchasing player taken into consideration. The character may or may not have combat ranks, custom clothes and gear, and an expiration date.

    STP Spend Suggestions:
    - Being able to purchase the fatigue/hp/stat boosting consumables. 1 vial for 10 STP.
    - 25 STP for one week of rollover added to your current week's SP gain potential.

    Citizenship perks:
    - Increase the citizenship cost in the Vet Char thing, and make it an STP/RP/IG money option without a sponsor required.
    - citizens get more mechanical perks than before - better prices, more bank slots, better housing, free wagon/fast ferry rides, higher NPC trainer ranks, access to certain rare items shops, lower jail times, etc.

    More money sink ideas:
    - Shield repair kits. Repairs a set amount of shield HP. Costs 500d for a kit. Does not repair past 80%.
    - variations on the charcoal that lets you charcoal-blacken items. (it turns shoulder guards into some charcoal blackened shoulder guards, and is permanent until you repair it. not all items can be repaired, so it's permanent on some items.) more variations:
a pot of clear, golden-hued polishing oil: some oil-rubbed shoulder guards. say it's 3t from a shop.
some ash-mixed oil: some ash-stained shoulder guards. say it's 2t from a shop.
some kohl: some kohl-stained shoulder guards. say it's 3t from a shop.
a small ceramic pot of cobalt-blue dye. (This shit smells awful, yada yada yada. It is mdae of whatever the fuck blue dye was made of in the roman dyes, probably animal brains and cat shit.) some cobalt-blue dyed shoulder guards. 9t from a shop.
a small ceramic pot of purple dye. 40t. Yep, 40.
a small ceramic pot of midnight black dye, and so forth.

    --------------------

    More Rps spend suggestions:
    - Consumables for weapons. 200 rps for things like a: weapon oil with an acrid scent and a greenish tinge (bonus to bleeding cuts); bronze studs for blunt damage weapons (bonus to bruises.) A sharpened tip for piercing wounds. A poison oil. Lasts 3 IRL months before it degrades and dies. Or maybe it doesn't degrade - if its permanent until overwritten, it costs 750 rps each.

    More STP spend suggestions:
(50 stp = $25, or one month sub.)
    - Current conversion is 1 storypoint to 4 rp. Suggestion for new conversion: 1 storypoint to 5 RP.
    - Current prices: 50 STP for 1 point in a stat. (RPs cost: 1000 rps for 10 points in a stat, so 100 rps for 1 point. The 50 rps for 1 point is currently the equivalent of 200 rps per 1 point. At 1:5, it's the equivalent of 250 rps per point. I suggest 25 STPS = 1 point increase in a stat, so that it costs the equivalent of 125 rps at a 1:5 conversion, and gives the STP spend bonus of not requiring the courses.)
    - Current prices: 500 storypoints for a domus. This is fine.

Quality of life/RP enhancing coding suggestions:
    - Copy codexes mechanic
    - Longer times on bulletin boards
    - Bulletin board at the Toga
    - Purple rumors moved to Toga or major inns only, to encourage people to "check into civilization and hot spots" to hear news.
    - A rest boost for sitting in the common room of the Toga, not as good as the baths.

    more money sinks:
    - extra language lessons, extra 10 a day limit, requires donation of 800d.

    more stp ideas:
    - um... still working on it.

    basic sub ideas:
    - bonus to rare loot drops from boss chests
    - for a 3 month sub, get 1x added rollover to your current week's sp gain potential
    - for a 3 month sub, get 50 stp.
    - access to new types of npcs

    premium sub ideas:
    - extra bonus to rare loot drops from boss chests
    - for a 1 month sub, get 1x added rollover to your current week's sp gain
    - for a 3 month sub, get 100 extra stp.
    - if it isn't an rps option, then maybe it can be a premium/stop option: 500 stp for an SG-lite character, subject to GM approval.

      Servants/pack animals
-Something to carry sacks/boxes/containers and/or pull wagons for a set duration of time

      Couriers
-Expedited mail delivering NPCs who will seek out a person when they enter a major city. Limited to parchment or other writable materials

      Expanded bank space
-charge a premium to increase what you can hold in the bank. Annual charge

      Shop space rental
-Similar to an insula/inn room in terms of cost, but can help players set up a shop front.

      Palanquin
-walking is for chumps. Ride around the city in style!

YES please to any changes Elowynn and Foxfire have posted!! I know they won’t all get implemented but I definitely support them all. The game needs more attractive perks and features.

I’ve invested 120 to 200 talents into seld road, I would have gladly invested the same into a shop idea several that I had or even more if it opened said shop, and also became “owner” to increase from pleb to higher rank citizen

Horses. Upkeep is stupid expensive, you have to rent a stall, etc. Code them to essentially allow your character to run with no stamina penalty for x amount of time. Make the range dependent on character weight and encumbrance to keep Paul Revere from hauling 500 pounds of loot with him. Better horses have a higher upkeep but afford you a higher range/load capacity.

A real benefit for being an income earner and some form of class mobility. Perhaps some form of holdings purchase for extreme cost. This would give several types of character some form of end game other than higher rank bonus.

Re-balance rent and housing around town. Short Oar shouldn't cost less than a denar a day and Anlea's shouldn't be 125 denars a day.

Auction off property from time to time. Property with unpaid upkeep should be returned to a pool for auction at a future time. There's FAR too much housing just out there wasting away on accounts that have been gone a long time. People would pay a war pension for many of them. Adding a class restriction for certain places could be a big perk for climbing the class ladder.

I've always wanted a pony Lantraste so I'm 100% behind this suggestion. Would also like the same type of concept but with a chariot.

Any other animals than what we currently have, let them be trainable. Do a few tricks, which mostly makes them a roleplay prop.

Rent space on a barge that goes from Vetallun to the City. You buy a ticket and turn in the stuff that you want to go. It's shipped to the city and you can withdraw when it is convenient for you to do so. Same could be done with Franilus, all the material would be going to resupply so the ship would naturally be empty.

              stp purchases
increase your sp cap from 250 to 500
              potions that boost your fatigue

I suggest 25 STPS = 1 point increase in a stat, so that it costs the equivalent of 125 rps at a 1:5 conversion, and gives the STP spend bonus of not requiring the courses.)

Auctioning off property has been done, and there are more of these in the works.

I'm far more likely to create new housing than to kick someone out of a building they legitimately purchased just because they haven't logged in for awhile. If there are any particular housing units you are offering your war pension for, please tell me a) where they are located and b) what about them makes them so desirable, and we can look to recreate those "selling points" in new structures.

@request, please. Since I'm transferring @requests over to a spreadsheet for easier implementation, that would be easiest for me at the moment. Thank ya!

I'd like to add to this make them toggle-able, and also make it so you can have more than one.

On a side note, I fully support the idea of things like purple being expensive. But the current environment doesn't really benefit a person for dressing to reflect status. It's more a wear your best stuff at all times and dress for cool points. Suggestion; Someone put up the idea of attaching appearance/charisma modifiers on socially appropriate clothing, and possible negative modifiers for not doing so in social situations. While we don't have a social system right now, it's something to consider should we ever.
