This report was referenced by several Canadian newspapers, and I must personally say that it's an interesting read (from what I've seen so far).

I liked how many people around the world responded that America doesnt take into consideration the interests of their country, it may seem that way but what probably happens are those interests are considered and ignored.

Wait, Ms. Albright, the same US Secretary of State that said 500,000 Iraqi casualties is acceptable collateral damage is talking about perceptions held by people outside Amerika?
I don't think we really value anyone else's opinion, (by we, I mean planners), outside of the geopolitical consequences. The Kurdish population of Iraq doesn't amount to much, so we didn't care when Saddam was gassing, "his own people" to use the contemporary phrase, with the weapons we gave him. If they feel a little resentment a couple decades later, and decide to hijack an airplane or two with box cutters though... Well, in that event, I'm sure Ms. Albright and some other parties will be lining up to give a damn about opressed people. Pardon me, but to my way of thinking, Ms. Albright is lucky she isn't being tried with a Mr. Clinton, Mr. Kissinger, Mr. Bush (Jr. and Sr.), Mr. Reagan, and so on, as the war criminals they are. When my friends travel abroad, they pretend to be Canadian. It makes the food being prepared safer. |

I have, and my main point was that Ms. Albright isn't a source of progressive thought. It isn't very interesting to me that other countries think we trample all over them, and it isn't very interesting to me that Ms. Albright is being completely hypocritical.
Seems like buisness as usual on Capitol Hill. |
