StoryPlotter Xios continues, "Now where did I leave off?"

StoryPlotter Xios recites from his book:

"Private room feature: Some unique detail added to a personal room. SP approved of course. This could be fire in the fireplace of one of the red guest rooms, but additional coding to allow for the lighting and extinguishing of the fire is not included. It could be a painting placed on one of the walls. 1000 points."
Gareth asks, "Shouldn't we keep the art-on-the-walls an ICly thing, and possibly spread around a little 'art on the wall' ability to the Royal Artists?"

Cassandra nods agreeingly.


StoryPlotter Xios explains to Gareth, "For outside in the main castle, yup. But currently how guest rooms are coded you can't easily just add a painting to the wall. It requires much more work than that."
Laylou wonders, "if people in red guest rooms can have fire in their fireplaces... then maybe these select few can have matches too."
StoryPlotter Xios shrugs, "It also was a suggested unique change to a room. I guess if you wanted we could take a chair you got from a carpenter and add it as a detail. It would make a room less spammy, though that's lots of points for such."
Gareth thinks, "Hmm. I'd still like to see it tied into the Curator or artists in some way. And yes, they took away the ability to put something 'on' a wall. But it wasn't 'affixed' to the wall at that time."
StoryPlotter Xios answers Laylou, "The servants would have lit the fire and it wouldn't be able to be turned on and off."
StoryPlotter Xios assures Gareth, "If there are IC methods to place something, we'll RP through them."
Kadae says, "I was just wondering, could for so many thousands of SP change rooms, I want a fireplace."
Gareth raises his long hand, "I have an idea for something to be 'uniquely decorated'."
StoryCoder Kalle turns to StoryPlotter Xios, "Now, if I would spend 10,000 points on my OB room and suddenly get an *IB* room, would those points be refunded?"
StoryPlotter Xios explains to Kadae, "Only the red room has the space on the wall for a fireplace."

StoryCoder Kalle says, "Or would those 'extras' be transferred to the new room?"

StoryPlotter Xios grins at StoryCoder Kalle, "Great question..."
StoryPlotter Xios strokes his pointed goatee, "No idea. I'd guess we'd probably move the changes you requested to the new room."


StoryPlotter Xios admits to Kadae, "I've never consider such room changing outside of when done for promotional or job related reasons."
StoryCoder Kalle nods to StoryPlotter Xios, "I'm sure it can be dealt with. If a feature in my OB room actually exists in the new IB room, I'm sure staff woudl be willing to compromise and find a solution with e.g. another similarly 'good' feature in the new room."
StoryPlotter Xios adds to StoryCoder Kalle, "It also might depend on the change and how you gto an IB room. I'd be less tempted to do so much work on a job related move for say a page over a new courtier. But that's specific issues we can speak to people as they pop up."
StoryPlotter Xios grins, "It's been asked many a time before and best to go IC and ask since lots of people have theories and investigated it."
