Idle curiosity

If my character stares at the sky for hours on end, will he eventually spot a bird flying over the Castle / near the Castle / on the horizon?

Just seems like something that'd be awfully hard to "find out IC"... unless I, like, contact a StoryPlotter about it. And that seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Ooooh. Another, closely related. If I take a spyglass and spend hours daily peering at the mountains and such, will I see any signs of life? Mountain goats? Anything?

If I DO get my hands on the spyglass, will the Plotters just think I am wasting their time if I approach them about finding this stuff out? Do they even HAVE the answers? o.O

this one I can answer. There was a time when the SPs provided close up descrpits for things seen with a spyglass outside the castle. I dont know which one, and you do have to have a spyglass, but you can get close up details.
Now as to signs of life, I only know of one, and we looked at that one closely. There may be more, but you will have to go looking.

Excellent! Thank you! My main point of curiosity was whether or not the answers to my questions actually existed, or if approaching Staff about them would get me an embarrassed look and an "Ummm, we don't know, really."

I'd suggest keep looking to the skys. You should be able to IC answer if you ever see birds or not.

If you are using a tool such as a spyglass, Plotters should be able to provide additional information about what added detail you can make out.
