Sleeping Soundly

I was never very good at creating my own plots. And even when presented with one, I found I had little patience with it. My view of Castle Marrach was always utilitarian. I enjoyed just doing things; be it making events or jewelry items, etc.

It's taken me a few years (I guess I'm slow) to realize that when that is stripped down, it's really not substantial role playing at all. Moreso, I feel like a small fading part of a background, in a tapestry that is rich with life. Even the memories I had of when I first started playing are slowly diminishing. I'm left with fragments of good times and bad, fond memories of days past, and little promise for a similar future.

In the last few months, just small things were making me log in such as the jeweler meetings (which is the sole reason I stayed so long) and items, believe it or not. It's a sign to walk away when you get exhausted before you even log in. It became monotonous.

Therefore I am stepping away. Bowing out while the time is good. This has been a VERY long time coming. I was going to mention special people that made the game what it was for me, but it's hard to list them all without feeling a pang of sadness, and guilt for missing someone. I also said to myself it was weak to post something like this, but I need some sort closure, so this is it. They know who they are, everyone that's been a part of my only character's existence in this castle. Thank you for spending some time with Charlott.

Have fun in there!
Julie

P.S. It was the @'s... Just kidding.

Julie,

Plots and the crafting of goodies and special events aside:

I've commented generally elsewhere on the fact that some characters really live and breathe for me as a matter of imagination.

Charlott is one of those.

I found aimless social rp with Charlott one of the best pleasures of my own experience playing Corian and this game

Thanks for the moments, and what you gave to the endeavor.

All best wishes to you in future,

Corian's player

Adios, senorita.

Julie, you did not need to be good at creating plots. The wonderfully multi-faceted personality of your character was enough for plots to form around her.

Like Corian mentioned, "She breathed." Charlott changed. Charlott reacted realistically. I never saw Charlott be overly dramatic and dude, you never strayed from her character. Charlott was so solid I could sometimes slap you, because I would poke at you, and prod you to change her into something that she wasn't...but god it's great you didn't listen to me, because that is what made her so ~realistic~. It's what made role-playing fun with you, Julie.

Forget about major plots, forget about murder, intrigue, romance, mystery...all that stuff this game is supposed to be about. I remember Charlott joining another triad after months of promises with Davi and Miriam. I remember the drunken times during that saga of incantations. The slap!! Charlott taking over dance at the Muses even though Davi had had so many plans! Mortarion and...what was that "trollop"s name? And what about the unpopular Me'Requitames? You took risks with your character. As much as you talk like it was all items and events for you, we've had so many little experiences together with our characters, Julie, that made my stay at Castle Marrach so much fun. I don't think I would have stuck around as long if it weren't for you. You added life to my character, as much as you did your's.

Not to mention, as a player, you were always there for me, and you know I was pissed off a lot about CM. I was probably one of the more annoying players because of it, but you always calmed me down, and if one of my plots got rejected, you would be there with an idea for Charlott and Davi.

I also know how much work you put into the game OOC, especially with the Muses. It's a shame you never got more appreciation or recognition IC, but if you were content with what you got, it's cool with me, too.

So many memories, IG, and OOC, Julie. You were a terrific, consistent role-player, and even if some players don't know what they'll be missing from now on, I certainly do, my Canadian buddy.
