Getting your guestroom
All right so you have your money pouch (You did go get that right?) and you want a guest room.
Well how do you get one? Well from the boarding house if you talk with the concierge, you'll find that he has 6 keys to choose from. From there head SW and then up the flight of stairs. You'll be in a hall way with 6 doors. Guess what? Each key unlocks a different door. Nature-themed Guestroom: 2 denarii (Border of Ivy - Wooden Key) Shipman's Cabin: ? denarii (Crude Anchor - Rusty Key) Noble Guestroom: ? denarii (Crude Medieval Scene - Bone Key) Stone-walled Guestroom: ? denarii (Simple Tree - Winged Stone Key) Serene Guestroom: ? denarii (Panda - Delicate Key) Warm, Stuffy Room: ? denarii (Smoking Bowl of Incense - Elegent Key) I don't know how much each of the rooms cost per day, but I did find out quiet on accedent that the Nature Themed room costs 2 Denarii per day. How do you read that table? Well if you want the Warm, Stuffy Room you need the Elegent key and you need to find the door with the Bowl of Incense on it. Then you need to unlock that door with the elegent key. (IE: Unlock west door with elegent key.) Once you've unlocked the door you can go ahead and put the key in your pouch because you won't need it to open the door. Just type open door and you can go in. If you decide you do not wish to rent a room anymore all you have to do is go back to the concierge and give him your key back. Just make sure everything is taken out of your room first as you don't want to loose it. From what I understand the cheepest room is the Cabin room... but as I say I have no idea how much any of the rooms other than the Nature Themed room costs. I don't even know if that's the most expensive or not. I do hope this helps people.

The guestroom cost comes from your income. It's a bit of a new concept, and kind of tricky. I go into more detail here:

It seems that the doors have been modified sense I did this. If you unlock a door now it seems to tell you how much the room costs and how much your remaining earnings are.
But I'm not going to go through each door again to find out how much the rooms cost.

They seem to work perfectly sometimes (like when I tested them!) and then misbehave other times. I haven't seen anything harmful to the characters happen yet from the doors, though.

And now they aren't doing it...
Hum... Well anyways pick what ever room you want, but don't do like I did or you might suddenly find your character has no money. Darn and my character only started with 1.9 coins.

The rooms don't actually cost money, they cost income.
I'll check to make sure that people have the right amounts of money, so you won't be permanantly-broke because you're renting twenty rooms ![]()

All I know is that when I first got my pouch it had nothing in it. When I checked it later it had 1.9 coins in it.
Later on when I checked it it had 1 coin in it, and then it had nothing in it. And other than playing with the room keys I have spent no money.

When you first get your pouch it isn't filled up until AFTER you leave the bank.
(this is to give you a chance to set how much you want to carry in your pouch) See the thread here: http://forum.skotos.net/showthread.p...threadid=52166 As for it vanishing... it sounds like someone pickpocketed you. You're in docktown, there are thieves *everywhere* Someone really needs to start clearing up this mess. No wonder the gates are locked! Cheers Tony (who never drops plot hints)

Some of the guestrooms are bare on details. We're aware..thanks everyone who assisted. Those in the medieval room should notice they can interact with some things, though some things are bare.
I can't speak for the building team, I just fixed up the medieval room since I had time - but I doubt the other rooms will be far behind ![]() |

Are the rooms like marrach rooms in that once you're inside and someone has the same room as you, they'll end up in theres once they enter the room?

The shipman's cabin is AWESOME. Lots of things to interact with: speaking tube, anchor, mast, two hammocks, and nets. As Coralin says, "It even smells like home!"
One detail that got left out is that the horn is not interactable But that's not a problem. The room is most specatacular, and both Coralin and I the player are awed. It is the perfect room for a fisher sea otter.THANKS! |

hmm, I asked for a rusty key. And had two more keys that I found laying about. I tried to give the first two keys to the concierge guy first, and he didn't take them, and he won't take the rusty key now either. So I'm wondering if I'm stuck with whatever's in the rusty key room, or what. heh.

Mice: He'll only take the key back once it's labelled (it means you're returning the room)
- just put any keys you don't want in a bin. to label a key, go to the guestrooms (southeast from the concierge, up the stairs) then go to the right door (there are pictures that match the keys, as Xewe posted above), and "unlock door with my key"
