Request for Assistance with Study

Dear Denizens,

I am currently working on a study within my capacity of a Junior Student of the Royal Collegium. To complete this study, I am in need of thirty volunteers.

In order to qualify, the volunteer must not be a courtier, knight, or noble. Participants must also be an active participant in a guild which is considered part of the Outer Bailey. Honoured Guests may apply to be part of this study, but will be accepted only if not enough non-honoured guest respondents apply. I encourage honoured guests to apply; they will be accepted on a first-come, first accepted basis.

The study will consist of a thirty minute or less question-answer session. Answers given by study participants will be kept confidential (with some exceptions, noted below). A final report will be published within the Royal Collegium, but should any study participant wish their own, personal copy, it will be provided.

Those interested in participating are requested to send me a missive no later than the Eleventh Day of the Eighth month. Sessions between applicants will begin as soon as they are accepted into the study and a time can be arranged.

Finally, all applicants are required to sign an agreement in which they swear upon their honour that the questions within the study shall be confidential. Should this agreement be broken, the study will be completely compromised and will need to begin again. Please do not inconvenience other study participants.

Please note the following exceptions:

Should any response be given that implicates the respondent in a crime, provides insight to a crime, or expresses intent to commit a crime, their name and their responses shall be shared with the Royal Guard.

Furthermore, the notes from my study will be provided unto my sponsor within the Royal Collegium, Doctor Dittersdorf, for review.

Should possible respondents have issue with these exceptions, plaese note they are not negotiable.

Note an amendment to the original terms. Originally, I required participants to have an active role in an Outer Bailey Guild. I hereby rescind that requirement, BUT add the following:

Participants must also be an active participant in a guild which is considered part of the Outer Bailey. If not a member of an Outer Bailey organization, they must reside in the Outer Bailey and associate daily with Outer Bailey life, may not be an Honoured Guest, nor hold any position on the Great Chain of Being that would grant them Inner Access.

So, essentially, if you are not a member of an Outer Bailey guild or organization, you may NOT be a member of an Inner Bailey guild or organization.

I ask all to please seriously consider participating in this study. It takes but a mere thirty minutes of a day. I have 10 of 30 people who have volunteered, and to those who have, I express my gratitude.

Please do not assume others will volunteer in your place. This study is very simple and will take but minutes and cause no harm to participants.

Dear Denizens,

Understand that while I cannot explain the details of the study in order to prevent any prejudiced answers, I can explain the method of the study.

I schedule an interview with you. During this time, I ask you five (or six) questions. I note down your answers. This should not take more than thirty minutes or so of your time.

If I am not able to gather enough participants, I will cancel this study so as to not waste the time of those who have volunteered. Please consider participation. It is a mere thirty minutes of your time and you need do nothing but sit with me. I shall be noting down your answers.

Please remember, participants may not be above 9th link and must participate in an Outer Bailey guild, or should they not participate in an Outer Bailey guild they must not participate in an Inner Bailey organization. Those are the only requirements, though one must sign a written agreement to abide by the terms of the study. The terms are essentially 'Speak to no one about the study details,' so as to not ruin the study.

The more participants I have, the more data I will gather and my answers will have more depth to them.

So please, for the sake of knowledge and study, I implore you - should you be able, volunteer. Perhaps you will learn something you did not realize you knew.

Denizens,

I invite those who wish to participate in my study and have not contacted me to do so before the 11th of this month.

Due to an unfortunate occurence, the privacy of those participating in my study has been compromised. For those who have agreed to participate in the study, I will be contacting you shortly to discuss the problem that has occured and to see if a compromise can be reached that will allow the study to continue.

Hopefully the study will go as planned.

Thank you for all who applied to be part of this study. Though my original goal was to have thirty non-honoured guest participants, I was unable to reach that goal by the deadline. However, I did manage to receive and confirm eighteen non-honoured guest applicants before the deadline. There are four non-honoured guest applicants that still need to confirm. They will have until the 21st to do so.

At this time, I do not intend to use honoured guests who were kind enough to apply and confirm their interest. Should this change, I shall contact you.

Would Yivvy, Dominic, Malaine, and Tsirona please check their missives and confirm with me. The other seventeen have all been sent scrolls in order to set an interview time.

My appeciation to the 22 applicants, the two honoured guests, and the three interested parties who were unable to participate due to not meeting the qualifications.

A lecture will be scheduled after the final report is approved by my sponsor. After that date, any who wish a copy of the study who was not a participant may petition me and I will see if I have the supplies to oblige.

My thanks to you for your patience. There were some loose ends which needed tying before the study could continue. While there is one outstanding issue to be completed, the process has begun so there is no jeopardy to the study itself. Therefore, I shall be contacting those who wished to participate so I can complete the study.
