The Black & White Ball

21st day of the 1st moon, 8YRA

The Black & White Ball

In accordance to the will of the Lord Chamberlain, upholding the duties charged to me as Junior Chronicler, I hereby submit the chronicle The Black & White Ball.

The annual Black & White Ball was held on the evening of the 20th day of the 1st moon 8YRA. The event hosted by sera Rosalind had many in attendance including sers Fezwin, Janwin, Ammanas, this Chronicler, Sheriff Robert, Doctor Dittersdorf and Lord Sicard. As well as seras Camellia, Chasity, Trenna, Chorus, Kitra, Finna, Adalyn, Eloire, Etaine, Doctor Destini and a most welcomed appearance by Her Majesty Queen Vivienne.

One of the main attractions of the event seemed to be the table complete with tray after tray of delicacies consisting of candied rose petals, berry tarts, almond cakes, slices of chocolate cake, roasted almonds, and one of the most attended treats of the night a fine layered pastry. Other foods and drinks included slices of black bread and an assortment of cheeses. As well as a large assortment of drinks including many different teas, coffee, Hot Chocolate, and a large assortment of wines.

The evening seemed to truly start upon the arrival of Her Majesty. After Queen Vivienne's arrival sera Rosalind the host of the evening did make an announcement, "I am so very pleased to see such lovely attendance at this, the third annual Black and White Ball..." she started, "And to show my appreciation, I have commissioned a few gifts to be made from our Castle's talented Mistress Zia. The first are charms, in keeping with the tradition of the Black and White Ball. This year's are miniatures of the Heralds' trumpet bearing Her Majesty's banner." after passing on the charms for Her Majesty sera Rosalind continued, "And then, I would present a small token to each guest of an ebony letter opener or an ivory-backed mirror, both are engraved with different scenes from our beloved Castle Marrach.". After this Her Majesty did comment, "With such grand gifts for your guests, We were almost not needed to make it a special event.". With her final bidding, "Do enjoy your evening, that is a Royal Order." Her Majesty withdrew and the Ball continued.

Later in the evening sera Rosalind did thank seras Chasity, Anita and Camellia for their help with planning the ball and noted that the gifted items of letter openers and mirrors were the idea of sera Camellia. Much like the charm bracelets were the idea of sera Kittyn during the first annual Black & White Ball. Sera Eloire was also thanked for her help during the ball. Sera Rosalind is quoted, "Truly, I could not have continued my Ball this many years without the aid of others."

With that the ball eventually drew to a close with a wonderful time had by all those in attendance, from the food and the fine music to an appearance from Her Majesty the Ball was grand indeed. And I know that it is the hope of this Chronicler and many others that the Black & White Ball shall commence for many many years to come.

This chronicle will be subject to changes and corrections, as I ask that the readers indicate to me any falsehood I may have mistakenly communicated. In service to Her Majesty Queen Vivienne, the Lord Chamberlain, the Chronicler's Office, and the Denizenry of our Gracious Queen's Realm;
