A Cloaked Woman's Visit

26th Day, 1st Moon, Year 8 of Awakenings.

A Cloaked Woman's Visit

To the Denizenry of Her Majesty's Castle Marrach: in accordance to the will of the Lord Chamberlain, upholding the duties charged to me as an Aspirant Chronicler, I hereby submit the chronicle of A Cloaked Woman's Visit

In the late evening hours around the tenth late bell of the 25th day of this moon, an unknown woman wearing a floor length faded wool cloak entered the Outer Bailey courtyard through the green bronze arch. This chronicler was astonished to note that her cloak completely concealed her tall form, face and features, though a beige cotton robe and antique calfskin slippers could be observed. She gazed at the courtyard, scanning this chronicler, before moving on to the white arch. Her manner and poise suggested that she felt herself to be of utmost importance.

This chronicler gave chase, which ended at the closed door to the Practice Hall. Upon entering the corridor, the woman turned and gazed with a look of curious interest. When greeted, she replied in a curt tone: 'I do not believe I gave thee permission to address me.' After a few moments, the woman requested that this chronicler step forward and knock on the door leading into the Hall.

When asked what business she had in the castle wearing such a garment to hide herself, the woman replied 'Murder. Do you wish to volunteer?' Questioned about who was to be murdered, she gave no response.

The door to the practice hall was opened, and we entered the room. Inside were sers Mark Trevayne and Nexian D'Monqe, Elders of the Duelist Society, as well as sers Marcellius, a Courtier of the Court, and Voltamir a senior chronicler. Seras Allenya - also of the Elder triad of Duelists - Eloire, Scribe of the Chamber, Rikka and sera Trenna, Senior of the Duelist Society. Upon entrance the woman drew surprised and doubtful looks from those assembled.

It was ser Nexian who spoke first: 'Please, remove thy cloak or withdraw.' Several swords were drawn, and still the woman refused to remove her cloak. Instead, she walked forwards toward ser Marcellius and whispered to him only, after which, the cloaked woman vacated the practice hall leaving those present to wonder on her identity and her cause.

It was pointed out that persons possessing such cloaks may not have obtained them illegally and assumptions should not be made in haste. 'If they were not wanting to be seen, then they should remain where they -cannot- be seen.' opined sera Trenna. 'Entering the bloody Practice Hall in a cloak like that is -begging- for defensiveness from those around.' Sera Allenya chimed in: 'With all the villians and traitors from the Caves wearing disgusing cloaks...we certainly have every reason to be wary of such situations.'

There is much speculation and wonder as to who the woman is, and what was said to ser Marcellius. As of this point, there is no solid evidence that leads any to believe the cloaked woman to be any one specific person.

This chronicle will be subject to changes and corrections, as I humbly ask that the readers indicate to me any falsehood I may have mistakenly communicated. It is through the preservation of the Past that we continue to serve Her Grace and give strength to those that will follow.

In service to Her Majesty Queen Vivienne, the Lord Chamberlain, the Chronicler's Office, and the Denizenry of our Gracious Queen's Realm;

Ser Keal, Aspirant Chronicler
